+ How do I visit Santa?

Please purchase Santa tickets ahead of your visit. They can only be purchased with Illuminated Trail tickets. Tickets to visit Santa cannot be purchased on their own.

Please note, your Santa’s Storytelling Experience must be booked ahead of your visit. Tickets to visit Santa cannot be purchased on their own. You must have a ticket to the illuminated trail.

If you already have booked your Santa Experience, please ensure this falls within your 90 minute booking period for the Illuminated Trail. You can visit Santa anytime during your 90 minute booking.

Only children need a ticket to see Santa, not accompanying adults. Children 0-3 require a Santa ticket if you wish the child to receive a small gift and sweets from Santa.

Children should be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults, due to space restrictions.

+ When is the event?
  • 2rd – 23rd December 2022 from 4.00pm until 10.00pm
  • Last entry to site is 8:30pm each day
  • Last entry to Santa's Groto is 9:00pm
  • The Illuminated Trail will close at 10:00pm
  • All customers must exit all car parks by 10:00pm

All customers must attend the event in the allocated 90 mins ticket time period. Customers can be refused late entry if car parks are full.

All dates and times are non negotiable and agreed with local authorities.

+ Where is the event?

Head to Beecraigs Country Park, by Linlithgow, West Lothian. Please follow AA signage from all approaches. SatNav info > EH49 6PL

+ How do I purchase tickets?

All tickets must be bought online in advance & strictly no ticket no entry. Tickets are on sale now. There will be no Box Office on site.Booking tickets is easy..

Your whole experience should last about 90 mins (Illumination Trail, Santa, food, amusements, etc).

Step one

Firstly you buy your Illumination Trail tickets and also book a free car parking ticket.

Step two

You then decide if you also want to visit Santa.

Please note - Santa tickets cannot be bought without actioning step one.

To buy a Santa ticket - you can choose to visit Santa anytime during your allocated 90 mins ticket time (The Santa Experience takes about 20 mins) so you can decide to visit him before you go into the Illumination Trail or afterwards.

It’s really whatever your personal preference is But don’t worry - it works both ways!

Just choose the date and times you want to go into the Forest and add them into your basket.

Step three

Review your basket. Purchase your tickets.

+ What is included in the ticket price?

Your ticket covers entry into the Illumination Trail only.

Santa’s Grotto and Storytelling Experience, Attractions and Festive street food and drink are all additional extras & not included in the price of the Illumination Trail ticket.

You can buy the following tickets in advance:

The Cala live stage performances and Forth 1&2 silent disco are free.

All other attractions (Children's amusements, retail units and Scottish street food and drink) are all additional extras & not included in the price of the Illumination Trail or Santa tickets.

All additional extras cannot be paid for in advance and are all payable on the night. Please bring cash and cards as the service in the Forest is poor.

+ How do I apply for a Carers ticket?

All Carers tickets are free

The person you are caring for should buy a ticket in the usual way. Then fill out the following below;

You just need to provide the booking details and we will send you the free Carers ticket.

+ Do adults need a ticket for Santa

Only children need a ticket to see Santa, not accompanying adults.

Children should be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults due to space restrictions in and around the Grotto.

The Santa Storytelling experience will last approximately 20 minutes.

+ How long does my visit last?

The event will last up to 90 minutes. Please dress for the weather!

+ How do I pay for items at the event?

Our preferred method of payment is by cash as the signal in the forest is poor. We cannot guarantee the availability of cashless payments.

+ Is there onsite parking at the event?

Parking at the event is free. Please be sure to book your parking ticket when purchasing your ticket online.

However, parking is extremely limited and we would request that your group use the minimum number of cars possible to visit the event. We understand of course that groups or larger families will require more than one car and this will be accommodated where we can. Please note: if your booking is for 4 people or less your tickets will include one car space. It will help the event organisers greatly if you can maximise the space in your car.

Blue badge parking bays are on a ‘first-come’ basis in the Visitor Centre Car Park. Cars must display blue badges to gain entry. In the event of there being no disabled parking bays, you will need to park in the regular car park.

+ Is this event suitable for families?

Absolutely! It is wonderful for all ages. Please ensure all children under 16 are accompanied at all times.

+ Is the event accessible for prams, buggies and wheelchairs?

Yes, absolutely. All paths are accessible with care. However, please remember it is a forest, it is the winter and we are in Scotland, so some adverse weather conditions may occasionally impact the route in certain places. Please take this into consideration when purchasing your ticket. Unfortunately we cannot control the weather!

+ Is the event suitable for ASN & ASD?

Yes our whole event is ASN friendly. Checkout our special ASN guide (produced in conjunction with Scottish Autism) for more detailed information.

+ Are pets allowed?

We are very sorry but strictly no pets are allowed.

Only assistance/support pets with the required authorised paper work will be allowed permission into the event.

+ Will there be strobe lighting?

Yes! There will be the use of lasers and strobe lighting throughout the event. Appropriate signage will be in place.

+ Can I take photos and videos?

Yes, please do! Photography and video for personal use and sharing via social media is encouraged! It’s going to look amazing! Share your Festive Forest images with everyone using #BFF2022

+ Litter & Smoking

We are sharing the park with a huge range of wildlife and must protect the country park’s environment. Please make sure you use the bins on site, or take it home with you.

There is a strict NO SMOKING policy throughout the entire event.

+ Is there food and drink available on site?

Yes! There are opportunities to buy delicious food and drink throughout the event site. We would remind the preferred payment method is cash, due to unstable network issues.

Please note: No food or drink can be brought on site.

+ What do I need on the day of the event?

Bring your home-printed Ticket or download to your mobile phone. You’ll be asked to show display your car park pass on your dash on arrival at car park – there’s no drop off zone and your ticket allows one entry and exit.

Tickets are only valid for the specific date and entry time stated on the ticket, selected at the time of booking.

Please understand, we can’t guarantee entry if you miss your allotted slot.

Tickets are non-transferrable. All barcodes are unique and once scanned, cannot be used again.

+ Do children under 3 need a ticket for the illuminated trail?

No, children under 3 will not require a ticket to access the illuminated trail.

Children from ages 4 and upwards, do require a ticket

+ What happens with refunds, transfers/exchanges and/or cancellation?
  2. Refunds will only ever be offered in the case of a full event cancellation (see point 3 below).

    All information regarding this is in our T&Cs when you purchase your ticket

  4. You can transfer/exchange your tickets from one date to another as long as you do it outwith 24hrs of your ticket date and subject to availability.

    You can do this by using the Exchange tool in your Ticket Wallet. Please follow the instructions from here. If you need any assistance, please contact [email protected]>

    Note - if your request is within 24hrs of your ticket date then your request cannot be accommodated or actioned.

  6. The event will only be cancelled if extreme weather makes the route unsafe or if there’s a major fault in our electrical supply or equipment.

    A decision to cancel would be taken by no later than 2pm on the day, and notice would be posted online.

    In the rare event of Rowen Events having to cancel the event, you will be offered the following 3 options:

    • A. You can transfer/exchange your tickets to another available date/timeslot for our BFF22 event (subject to availability)

      You can do this using the Exchange tool in your Ticket Wallet.

    • B. You can rollover your BFF22 tickets to our BFF23 VIP event.
    • C. If neither A or B above is unsuitable or cannot be accommodated then a refund will be offered.

Please note - refunds are only ever offered in the case of a full event cancellation. No other refunds will be given.
